Kiko’s Thinking Time is an educational app that aims to enhance children's memory, attention, and key cognitive skills through its adaptive games. Developed in collaboration with neuroscientists from prestigious institutions such as Harvard and UC Berkeley, and with support from the US Department of Education, this app was specifically designed with the goal of helping children succeed.
This app has gained recognition from Apple and has been awarded the 2014 &amp; 2015 SBIR Award from the US Department of Education. Additionally, it has been recognized by Teachers with Apps as the Best of 2014 Preschool Toolbox and was a 2014 Finalist for Verizon's Powerful Answers Award.
Experts have also praised Kiko's Thinking Time. The importance of developing cognitive skills early in children's lives is emphasized by Harvard University's research, which shows that children with stronger working memory, inhibition, and attentional skills tend to make greater gains in early math, language, and literacy development. Kiko's Thinking Time is specifically designed to target these skills through a variety of exercises.
Based on neuropsychological tasks that have shown promise in lab research, Kiko's Thinking Time games are developed in collaboration with leading researchers in developmental neuroscience from Harvard and UC Berkeley who serve on Kiko Labs' Scientific Advisory Board.
One key feature of this app is its dynamic skill levels. Each game adapts to match the appropriate skill level for each child, ensuring that they are always challenged but not frustrated.
In addition to its games, Kiko's Thinking Time offers a parents' area that provides a range of tools and charts for tracking a child's progress. Parents can easily monitor how their child is performing in six cognitive areas: Memory, Reasoning, Flexibility, Selective Attention, Spatial Ability, and Inhibitory Control.
